The purpose of the HR Counsel Course is to prepare, and give recognition to, the role of transnational in-house advisor covering employment and related laws.

A professionally qualified HR Counsel (QP-HR Counsel) is a legal expert who can deal with compliance issues and problems in a range of jurisdictions. They are not practicing lawyers, but hold an equivalent role in their field for internal advisory purposes. When complex local problems arise, or representation is required to undertake litigation or defend their company, they are in a strong position to interface with general legal counsel and external lawyers.

This one-year course is undertaken by a combination of face-to-face training and distance learning. All participants have a personal tutor and may also network with each other if they wish. Each of the 30 modules in the course requires an average of two hours to complete and participants are tested on their growing knowledge as each module is completed. They are also required to undertake two “mini-projects” that concern a legal-related issue they face in their own organisation.

The Course Director is Robin Chater, FedEE’s Secretary-General who, in addition to first and higher degrees, a legal qualification and FRSS, is also a fully qualified educational professional with UK QT Status (6846796) and an MCIPD (1023188X).

All material shared with the course tutors and administrators is held on a strictly confidential basis and personal data viewed at any time.
